923 was everywhere. License plates, cash registers, radio station bumper stickers, clocks, road signs and phones. I was seeing it so consistently over the past year, it seemed to me to be nothing short of universal shoulder pats, affirming that I was on the right path, and that quitting my job to focus on this project was not the stupidest decision ever made.
For the uninitiated, 9/23 is my birthday and the reason for the house number of the 923 Oak Project.
I started capturing these signs and sharing them with friends. Soon they began to see it too, and sent me screen captures of their phones at 9:23. Someone suggested that it would be really cool to capture 9:23 on September 23.
And #923on923 was born.
I asked friends and followers on Facebook to celebrate this momentous occasion – really The 923 Oak Project’s first official anniversary – by taking a screen grab of their phones when the clocks strike 9:23 on 9/23.
Here is the result! Many thanks to those that participated. From kids, couples and pets to landscapes and happy places, you guys have some great photos on your phone screens. Which is your favorite?
